Price cutting at DeskProto 1000. Licenses in use
Beginning of February 2005 the 1000th license of DeskProto, CAM-Software for Rapid-Prototyping came in use. The 1000th License is being used by Weta-Workshop in Wellington, New Zealand. Weta-Workshop produces Models for film-industry and was part of the Film-Trilogie „Lord of the Rings“. The supplier of the film-industry will use DeskProtofirstly for producing landscape- and ship-models on a large Shopbot-Machine.
At the same time Lex Lennings, from Delftspline Systems, has anounced an impressive price-cut. Having asked for the reason for the price-cut, Lex Learning said ‘Software development is almost independant of the amount of licenses sold. Therefore a larger number makes smaller prices possible. Having achieved to sell 1000 licenses is therefore a good reason for a price-cut.’
